Keep Your Campsite Illuminated With LED Light Bars
Convenience is a city's biggest advantage but also its biggest flaw, since as humans, convenience isn't what helps us thrive. However, no one wants to get out of their way and experience struggle, at least not the way we know it.
Camping, on the other hand, is the middle ground that many city folk have embraced as their way of keeping themselves closer to what makes us human. Even if you haven't gone camping overnight before, it can be a thrilling experience and having light when there is none available is one of the most crucial factors to consider.
What Makes a Good LED Camp Light

Brightness
One of the most important factors for an effective campsite light is its brightness. The number of lumens the light has determines how bright it is and to no one's surprise, the more lumens there are, the brighter the light. This is especially the case with LED camping light bars, which are the brightest ones you'll come across.
Color
The color of the light is determined by its K (kelvin) number and the lower it is, the warmer (yellowish) the color of the light. Higher K lights are more blue and blue is known to attract insects. White colored lights are the middle ground between clarity and insect repellency, while red lights allow for better visibility in complete darkness.
Beam Pattern
There are two types of beam patterns a camping LED bar can have and those are wide and narrow. A wide (flood) beam pattern illuminates best in close proximity, while a narrow (spot) pattern can illuminate a small area far away. You can also go for a light that combines both patterns and lets you switch between the two.
Power Source
The camping light bars you go for can be powered by batteries, gas cans, solar cells or a crank handle. Battery and solar-powered lights are by far the most common, with gas and crank handle lights being less favorable. That's because gas is used for cooking outdoors and turning a handle while having to do something else can be tiring.
IP Rating
The IP or IPX rating of a light refers to how well protected it is from moisture and dust. The higher the rating it has, the better sealed it is from said outside factors, meaning it can last much longer when it comes to adverse weather conditions and falls.
Weight
Heavier lights are also usually more durable, as the added weight means better build quality and better quality materials being used to manufacture them. However, there are lighter lights that are still impressively tough and have a long lifespan, but they are not as easy to find.
Run Time
A long run time means you get to use the light without needing to charge it, replace its battery, swap its can or crank it. While this is a no-brainer, it can also be cumbersome as longer run times often equate to heavier lights due to the increase in battery/ can size.
Installation
If you go for a vehicle-mounted light bar instead of one that goes on your awning, you should also keep in mind the way it needs to be installed. The more steps there are and the more hardware there is, the more difficult the process, but this usually means you get a more permanent solution.
Benefits of LED Light Bars
Efficiency
One of the main advantages of LED camping light bars is their level of efficiency. They have little to no power loss, which is what makes them the most commonly used type of camping light bars, generally speaking, not just when it comes to camping. With an LED light, you can get the longest number of hours for the smallest power draw out of any type of light.
Versatility
Because of how simple LEDs actually are and the fact that they don't have an actual bulb as part of their assembly, they can be used for more than just a reading or driving light. You can use your camping LED bar to venture into the wild or hunt for game animals, since you can adjust both the level of brightness and color of the light.
Power
Despite being so efficient and having such low power loss, LED lights are quite powerful in terms of how bright they can get. They can easily dazzle others, which is why they don't usually have a big difference between their lumen count and wattage. You don't need a lot of wattage to get a powerful light, since for the same or lower power draw, you get a brighter light or one that is as bright as an incandescent light with the same wattage.
Longevity
Because there is less power draw, there is less heat being generated, which equates to less damage being done to internal components and materials, meaning they degrade more slowly. This makes LED camping light longer-lasting, so you get your money's worth for much longer.
